Realistic & Bold

  • Working in North Dakota and an oil field material handler inspired the white buffalo as a symbol of strength and harsh winters.

  • Having found this antique Czechoslovakian tea set pitcher, its delicacy was inspiring.

  • The P-61 Black Widow was the first night flyer created in World War 2. With night fights being my Father's favorite as a veteran, this made a memorable gift for Father's Day.

  • I conceptualized a water dragon with a mountain dragon as a gift for newly weds who would often vacation to the western mountains' waters.

  • A series of illustrations to show the diversity of octopi, quid, and cuttlefish while implementing color theory with the flat backgrounds.

Stylized & Fun

  • If I could be any creature, it would be a duck. Visiting the local duck pond brings me relaxation and fond memories.

  • Created as a children's book illustration, Blu, I wanted to give the character some expression of curiosity.

  • White Bass, Black Crappies, and Catfish are popular fish in Texas. These were created to highlight seasonal fishing in the local areas and fishing competitions.

  • Watching the chickens during my family visits inspired the 1-2-3 step series of them laying their eggs. They relax, run, then roost!

  • Adults love stickers too! These commissioned works were requested to bring laughs amongst their outdoorsy friends.

  • A local annual crawfish boil to benefit veterans gave me creative leeway for this concept. Illustrating alcohol was not allowed, so I gave the character a cob of corn to represent the crawfish holding up a beer.

  • A local brewery's name translates to "Happiness", so I bordered the hand-lettering with hops and barley.

  • The clovers point the way within German's Black Forest.

  • The buildings of Paris paint the city as their unique never-repeating pattern from above.

  • A country-side Inn's cat greets me outside of exit.

  • A mysterious performer only communicates using the sounds of his instrument.

  • The city security walls from 1452 encapsulate the town's history.

  • Image captured using a microscope of a dried leaf.

  • The sun's glare behind the street light creates an interesting shape of the pole.

  • The measuring cup on he glass table creates intersting shadows and mirroring,

  • The intentional blur of the cocktail shaker creates sparkles and an almost non-representational form.
